Description

Takeyla Nicole Williams, a board-certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology, has dedicated her career to providing exceptional care to patients. Dr. Williams's undergraduate journey began at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in December 2004. Her passion for medicine led her back to her hometown of Augusta, Georgia, where she worked as a research assistant at the Medical College of Georgia until her acceptance into medical school in 2006. In July 2006, Dr. Williams embarked on her medical studies at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where she excelled and graduated in June 2010. Following her medical degree, Dr. Williams completed a preliminary year in general surgery at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in June 2011. Her dedication and exceptional performance earned her the prestigious Eric R. Manahan Outstanding Surgical Resident Award, an honorary recognition bestowed annually upon a senior resident for outstanding surgical house officer skills. Additionally, she was appointed as the 2015-2016 administrative chief resident during her five-year residency. In August 2017, Dr. Williams further advanced her education by completing a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York City. Her expertise and commitment have led her back home to join Piedmont Physicians Surgical Oncology in Augusta, Georgia, where she currently specializes in treating benign and malignant diseases of the breast.
